A full-day Christian Theater Camp for Rising 2nd-6th Grade Children

 

During M.A.D. Week, participants will be involved in acting, singing, and dancing as well as creating sets and making costumes in preparation of performing the delightful musical for children, “The Tale of Three Trees” by Dave Clark and Jayme Thompson.

When:
July 17-21, 2017 (Monday-Friday)
The final production will be on Friday evening, July 21st, at 5:00 pm.

For:
Rising 2nd-6th grade children

Where:
Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church
171 Beaverdam Rd.
Asheville, NC 28804
(Corner of Beaverdam and Kimberly in North Asheville)

Time:
9:00 am-5:00 pm

Food:
Participants are asked to bring their own lunch.  Snacks will be provided.

Cost:
$25.00 (registration fee until June 1, 2017)
$30.00 (registration fee after June 1, 2017)

Participation will be limited to 30 children.

M.A.D. Camp Director, Judi Harvin, is a retired teacher with 34 years of elementary school experience.  She has directed numerous children’s productions.

Assistant Director and Choreographer, Maggie Harvin, is a UNCA graduate currently teaching 4th grade at The Sheikh Zayed Academy for Boys in Abu Dhabi.

Praying Our Way Forward

February 19-25 is the Western North Carolina Conference’s opportunity to pray for the denomination and for the Commission on a Way Forward in this prayer emphasis. More information can be found at umcprays.org. February 19th is the first day of the emphasis with Bishop Paul Leeland’s prayer (see below) followed by daily prayers on Monday-Saturday (see link to download bulletin insert).  Also, these prayers will be posted each day on the Conference website and on our Facebook and Twitter feeds.  You are invited to share them electronically each day.
