Annual Conference 2015

1df3e6b7993726f3c67ef579a515a6deIt’s that time of year again for The United Methodist Church…annual conference!  The main order of business this year in addition to the regular schedule is the fact that we will be electing delegates for General Conference and Jurisdictional Conference in 2016.  General Conference is a meeting held every four years that is the only body that can make official denominational decisions and changes to our Book of Discipline.  General Conference is made up of delegates from United Methodist Churches from all over the world–half of whom are clergy and half of whom are laity.

If you’d like to keep up with all the business that is happening at Lake Junaluska this week, visit the website that has been set up just for this event at www.ac2015.org.  You can even watch live streaming video of the proceedings from Stuart Auditorium, and you can see who has been elected as our conference delegates to represent us at General Conference in Portland in 2016.
