Asheville/Buncombe CROP Hunger Walk

the 2018 CROP Walk Team

The CROP Walk is one of the most enduring and most important missions activities in our church year. Each year our team of cheerful multigenerational walkers raises money by sponsorship to support the international efforts of Church World Service as well as our designated local agencies: Loving Food Resources, ABCCM,  and the Buncombe County Schools Meals Assistance Program. Church World Service specifies how international funds are used: “CROP Hunger Walks help to provide food and water, as well as resources that empower people to meet their own needs. From seeds and tools, to wells and water systems, to technical training and micro-enterprise loans, the key is people working together to identify their own development priorities, their strengths and their needs something CWS has learned through some 70 years of working in partnership around the world.”

We also make a contribution from the Missions budget that helps to underwrite the teeshirts.
